Hiking the Quetzal Trail and Volcan Baru in Panama
This trail takes you through the cloud forest of Chiriquis Rainforest Reserve, on the foothills of the Baru Volcano, the highest point in Panama.
This area is very close to the charming highland town of Boquette, where many tourists and Panamanians escape to for fresh mountain air and from the heat of the lowlands. It is one of the only places in Panama you will actually need a jacket!
If you are into birds, Panama is the place for you. You will see lots of birds on this hike and if you are lucky, the famous Quetzal bird – the most famous bird in Panama.
