New Gear Highlight: REI evrgrn outdoor accessories brand launch
REI looks to the the big urban wild for “instant gatherings” – the evrgrn product line is aimed towards outdoorsy people living in cities, to bring in a bit of that outdoor relaxation into town.

The idea behind the evrgrn line of outdoor accessories is to bring people together for instant gatherings, be it anywhere, even in the city. This line of gear does not re-invent the wheel and can easily be thought to fit best with the car camping crowd – pleasing a new urbanite who love the outdoors consumer segment. Though there is a lot of this car camping stuff around, we can expect this line to be of much higher quality, better workmanship and nicer designs.

Though we haven’t seen any of these items up close, we can expect them to be of the usual high quality REI is known for and backed by it’s rock solid guarentee.
So while none of these goods will make it into the backcountry, like the camp chair, sleeping bag with holes, or foldable table which aren’t made to fit in your backpack, they can be used on weekend getaways or in your backyard.

Many of these types of outdoor car camping products are already available at REI, but this new line evrgrn features moderate price points, and probably very good quality. This line of goods will appeal to people who want to stare at their computer screens less and find a good reason to spend some time outdoors. An evening at home in this campfire rocker ($99) in the yard with your friends is certainly better for you than sitting in front of the TV.
It’s good to see the effort of the brand to encourage more urbanites to get outdoors. Any effort to engage a new demographic to get outside is a good thing!
