Ski Line of the Year
Would you ski this outrageous line?
It’s unbelievable. It wins professional skier Cody Townsend ski line of the year for 2014!
Cody Townsend was honoured at the 2014 Powder Awards for skiing what has come to be recognized as the most challenging line of this year, the ridiculously steep and narrow tunnel-like chute off a peak in the Alaskan wilderness.
The ski line is near vertical, dark and narrow, with rock walls only inches away and an exit at the bottom perceptible only as a thin crack of light. The mountain is located in the Tordrillo Mountains in south central Alaska.
At the top of the chute, Townsend can be heard saying that he’s “nervous”, but then proceeds to ski the line with grace and without consequence.
Would you ski this line?
